Valerie Bollman is a Senior Media and Communications Specialist for ROSS Communications.
Ms. Bollman joined ROSS in 2006 after spending seven years in Washington, D.C. While in Washington, she held positions that advanced the communications efforts of organizations with legislative issues before the U.S. Congress and the Executive Branch in the areas of federal appropriations, taxes, trade, health care, financial services, technology, energy and natural resources, communications and homeland security.
Ms. Bollman served as the Chief Editor and Content Manager for DCI Group’s public relations division, Direct Communications Group, in Washington, D.C. In her position at DCI Group, Ms. Bollman coordinated for Fortune 500 companies, non-profits and political organizations the response and messaging of 14 writers on complex issues, including those related to Social Security, global warming, prescription drugs and free trade initiatives.
Before working at DCI, Ms. Bollman served as a Regional Communications Manager for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the largest advocacy organization representing small and independent businesses in Washington, D.C., and all 50 state capitals.
While at NFIB, she managed media communications for seven NFIB state offices, including Texas. Part of her responsibilities included working closely with NFIB-endorsed political candidates, promoting their campaigns to the media.
Ms. Bollman began her career in Washington working for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
Ms. Bollman holds a bachelor’s degree in government from The University of Texas at Austin.
She lives outside of Austin with her husband and two children.
